The Chamber Spotlight of the Week is on the Mountain Glory Station and the Glory Train on Rich Mountain--
The Mountain Glory Station and the Glory Train is a miniature train and depot atop the beautiful Rich Mountain, fourteen miles west of Mena, Arkansas. For over 50 years the Glory Train has run along two miles of track with stops along the way to enjoy the scenic views of Queen Wilhelmina State Park.
Every Arkansas state park has its own flair, but a miniature train ride through the mountain is quite the unique attraction. The train runs from Memorial Day until Labor Day, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sundays 1to 6 pm. Tickets are $6.50 per person and free for those 3 and under. This privately-operated concession is near the park entrance, where you can also play a round or two of miniature golf, followed by a quick meal or snack.
The train predominately runs during spring and summer but does have special excursion rides throughout the year. Follow their Facebook Page to keep “track” of these rides.
You can hop aboard at 3897 Hwy 88 West, Mena, AR 71953. For further information check out their Facebook page “Mountain Glory Station and the Glory Train” or call 479-394-3000.
