Our History
Established in 1898, the Mena Polk County Chamber of Commerce has been a central figure in the growth and development of the region for over 125 years. While the town of Mena was still in its early days, civic leaders understood the importance of organized economic support. From railroad expansion to modern tourism and entrepreneurship, the Chamber has evolved to meet the needs of our changing economy while staying true to its roots in community progress.
Enhancement Foundation
The Mena Polk County Chamber Enhancement Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit extension of the Chamber dedicated to community improvement and long-term economic development. The Foundation currently funds scholarships for local students and is expanding its impact through facade grants, downtown revitalization efforts, and public art initiatives. Future goals include advancing technology access, supporting workforce and leadership development, and promoting educational initiatives that strengthen both individual opportunity and regional growth. Through these efforts, the Foundation serves as a catalyst for progress in Polk County.
