Director's Note - February 2020

February greetings to everyone! Punxsutawney Phil made his predication yesterday and it looks like we will have an early spring! The accuracy of his predication remains to be seen but the tradition is a fun way to look forward to the longer, warmer days ahead. In addition to Groundhog Day, there are some interesting “national days” on the National Days calendar. Some serious, some fun, and some head-scratching. There's something for everyone; even National Do A Grouch A Favor Day! Find something to celebrate and have fun with it.

We cannot overlook Valentine's Day. Love is in the air this month so don't forget to take that special someone to one of our Chamber restaurants. For a complete listing and to make your Valentine's Day reservations, visit and browse the directory. We have many great places to celebrate and wonderful shops for purchasing that perfect gift.

The Annual Chamber Member Appreciation Banquet planning is underway! The date is set for April 2nd, at 6:00 p.m., in the beautiful Ouachita Center. This year's theme is the Roaring Twenties and we can't wait to see everyone's attire. This is a fun and special time as we look forward to seeing all our amazing members and showing our appreciation for your continued support of the Mena and Polk County communities.

We hope you are taking advantage of the classes the Chamber is offering. Throughout the year, we intend to continue demonstrating the value of your Chamber membership through tangible, and intangible, benefits. It is our goal to help provide useful tools you can implement and obtain results. If there is a subject you would like to more information on, please let us know.

Your Chamber Board of Directors and staff look forward to an exciting year and encourage you and your employees to take advantage of the programs and services we offer. We are open to your feedback and look forward to working with you all.

Warm regards,

Pasha Watson
