Director's Note - October 2020

It's Fall, y'all! The cooler weather is here and the visitors are, too! And there are some fun and exciting things going on. The Chamber is collecting addresses of commercial and residential locations who will be handing out candy for Halloween. If you would like to be added, be sure to contact us! There is a Decorate the Depot and Pumpkin Contest happening, as well. We look forward to seeing all the creativity and hope everyone has a great time designing their creations. Since the Mena Downtown Partners Daylight Trick or Treat event had to be canceled, we are looking for an alternative and hope to announce the final plan next week. We understand things have to be a bit, or a lot, different right now, but we still want to safely have fun and make memories with everyone. You may have noticed the Pick of the Patch Scarecrow Contest the Mena Downtown Partners is hosting. We would like to encourage all businesses to take advantage of this opportunity. Whether you decorate downtown or your storefronts, throughout the city and county, let's bring some cheer to all who live here or make the trek to visit. Not only will CMA be hosting their Changing of the Colors Rally, October 21st – 25th, but we will also be hosting a travel blogger, from the Dallas area, October 27th -29th. She will be shopping at our stores, eating at our food establishments, riding our trails, and reporting on all that our incredible area has to offer. Let's not only beautify our area, but also let's really show our Southern hospitality to all who choose to spend their time with us. And by all means, please don't forget to SMILE! Pre-COVID HUGS to all! Pasha Watson Mena/Polk County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
