Director's Note - September 2020

Summer is almost officially over and we will soon be heading into fall. School is in session, 2020 style! Those traveling to the area celebrated Labor Day with us and will, hopefully, return to see our beautiful fall colors. The air will be crisper, the days a little shorter, and the trees will be performing their beautiful show for all to see. What are you most looking forward to as the seasons change? Setting out fall decorations, hunting season, the smell of wood fires burning, picking out pumpkins for carving, cozy sweaters ... As with the changing seasons in nature, we, too, go through seasons. It is these transformations in ourselves, and our businesses, where we experience growth and strengthen our resilience. Whether it is adversity or opportunity, we evaluate, evolve, and determine the next, best course of action. Though it has been a challenging year, we are still going strong in Mena/Polk County. I'm sure there have been many lessons learned over the past year and those takeaways will undoubtedly influence our goal setting for 2021. Dream big, set your goals, and take action. The best is yet to come!     Warm regards, Pasha Watson Mena/Polk County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
