Chamber Challenges February 2020- 02

February 10, 2020

We will be focusing on one Chamber Challenge each month.

We encourage all Chamber members to participate. We want to help our members grow their businesses and learn new ways to reach their customers!

This Month's Challenge is:

Create a Contest or Giveaway

Different Types of Contest or Giveaway

  1. A Facebook Live - You broadcast your giveaway live, with real-time interaction and comments. You can announce you'll be doing a live "on this day, this time" to make sure you have people ready to participate. You can also invite some of your friends to watch. A strategy to make sure everyone sticks around is to announce the contest in the description and beginning of the video, but wait until the end to give entry info, or announce a winner if you chose to have the contest during the video. There are so many different ways to go about a "Live" giveaway.

  2. Caption This/Name This/ Fill-in-the-blank - These types of giveaways generate LOTS of comments and entrants will usually go through and read everyone's suggestions, creating more interaction on your page. You can have a simple "just for fun" contest with these types of giveaways, or go in depth. You can have your entrants name a new product, pick out their own prize from your products, or suggest new slogans.

  3. Fan of the Week - Who has liked the most, shared the most, commented the most, etc... this week? Pick a category or combine different ones. You can even turn this into a "Submit a Photo" or "Share a Selfie" contest, whoever gets the most votes/likes is the "Fan of the Week".

  4. Product/Service Video/Favorite Product - Have entrants submit media of using your product, having a service done, or the end results of using your product/service. The most likes/votes or best photo/video wins.

  5. Quiz or Trivia/Q&A - You can create a quiz or just post a trivia question. Then you pick the first correct/best winner, highest score, or a random correct/best winner. Quizzes can be very popular depending on the type, most that are just for fun get several results and shares.

  6. Instant Contest - The "Contests for Pages" app on Facebook allows you to quickly create and publish a contest that only requires entrants to click one button to enter. The app is able to then pull in the entrant's name, email and profile link automatically through Facebook. Then simply export all that valuable info (names, emails, Facebook profiles, etc.) and upload it to your email marketing service!

  7. Game or Puzzle - You can use so many types of games, puzzles, riddles and photos to create a simple graphic to be shared. Just ask your entrants to solve the puzzle or riddle in order to enter. Then have them comment/email/message you their answer.

Try out different types of contests and see which one works for you. There are different results for each kind that can help with different aspects of your business. Some contests will generate more activity, some more "likes", and some can build your email list. If there's something you're wanting to specifically do, combine different types to make yours work. Be creative and original.
